چکیده
Abstract The scuffing load carrying capacity is a decisive design criterion in the development of gears. In addition to gear geometry, entire tribological system gearbox must also be taken into account. Besides loads and speeds occuring during operation gears, lubricant used its additives have significant influence on capacity. particular, hypoid gears show an unfavorable combination high sliding velocities contact stresses tooth with regard failure mode scuffing. To ensure safe operation, highly additivated oils are generally transmissions. Since it not possible determine basis physical or chemical oil data alone, experimental test methods necessary. Due oils, limits many reached. order testing as close their application new was developed. However, since spur can carried out more quickly less resource effort, applicability S‑A10/16.6R/90 investigated. comparability two transferability determined evaluated scope this paper.

Constructive and Technological Development of Hypoid Gears
In this paper we present a new method for analyzing and developing the hypoid gears in order to improve their constructive and technological particularities.. The first part describes the methodologies for optimization the backlash. Then, the variation of the normal vectors and curvature is analyzed in the neighbourhood of the contact point. In the final part is presented a method for modelling...
متن کاملThe source of Acoustic Emission during meshing of spur gears
Condition monitoring of gears with vibration analysis and Spectrometric Oil Analysis Programs (SOAP) are widely accepted and used in the military aviation industry. Whilst the literature to date has shown the application of the Acoustic Emission (AE) technique to gearbox health monitoring still be in its infancy, there exist opportunities to develop the technique into a complementary diagnostic...
متن کاملInfluence of dynamic behaviour on elastohydrodynamic lubrication of spur gears
In this study, the elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) behaviour of high-speed spur gear contacts is investigated under dynamic conditions. A non-linear time-varying vibratory model of spur gear pairs is introduced to predict the instantaneous tooth forces under dynamic conditions within both the linear and non-linear operating regimes. In this model, the periodically time-varying gear mesh st...

متن کاملA Comparative Study of Tooth Wear, Mechanical Power Losses and Efficiency in Normal and High Contact Ratio Asymmetric Spur Gears
The surface tooth wear which occurs at the gear contact region due to inadequate contact strength of the tooth is one of the predominant modes of gear failures. Currently, higher contact ratio spur gears are increasingly used in power transmission applications such as aircraft, wind turbine, automobiles and compact tracked vehicles due to their high load carrying capacity. In this work, the di...
